Monsters of the Mediocre way
The Chicago Bears are a team I have followed most of my life, and one that has made an art-form out of being middle of the road. Rarely do the team wallow in the basement for long but equally the times near the top have been equally fleeting and torturously fragile. The past few seasons though, have been low points, with one of the Franchise’s periodic basement expeditions, culminating with a 3-13 record in 2016 – the worst record posted by the Bears in the 16-game season format (which began in 1978). However, an eventful summer at Halas Hall gives long-suffering Bears fans, such as myself, real hope that the good times are close. Close, but we’re not quite ready to deploy the landing-gear just yet.
